Cincinnati Enquirer November 26, 2010
For Lorinn Williams, being the owner of Beechmont Ford isn't just about selling cars, it's about giving back.
This holiday season Williams and the staff at Beechmont Ford will hold their first women's expo, Simple Holidays at Beechmont Ford, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4. The event will be held in the service area of the dealership, 600 Ohio Pike.
The money raised at the event will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the cure, an organization that raises money for breast cancer awareness, research and education.
During the event there will be entertainment; beer, ale and wine tastings; food; a runway show; silent auction and booths featuring more than 40 vendors. There also will be free valet parking, complimentary mini manicures and other services by Valenti Spa & Salon and a special appearance by Holly Morgan of Q102 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
"This event is about bringing people together to raise awareness and to give women
business owners an opportunity to showcase their talents," Williams said.
The event is free and raffle tickets are $5. There also will be candy bars and pink bracelets on sale to raise money. Men are welcome, too.
Hanna VanKuiken, communications and events coordinator for Susan G. Komen of Cincinnati, said she's impressed with Williams' efforts.
"She's doing a fantastic job and everyday I hear about something new she's adding or ways she's expanding it. It sounds very exciting," VanKuiken said. "This is a great opportunity because Lorinn's business reaches such a broad audience. It's important for fundraisers like this to reach the general community," she said.
Williams said people already have made donations and are bringing by raffle and auction items.
"My goal was $20,000 and we've already raised $8,000," she said.
Items and donations still are being accepted. Contact Williams through www.beechmontford.com for more information.
